Who is Fenrir in Norse Mythology?

Fenrir will be given a lot of freedom by the God of War Ragnarok crew, but traditional folktales can give us a better idea. Fenrir, a giant wolf, is what the trailer makes clear. But, he is traditionally the middle child to Loki and the Jotun woman Angrboda. Although Ragnarok is yet to reveal whether Ragnarok will have a time travel component that explains why Fenrir has been shown, Angrboda (below), was already presented in trailers as a love interest of Atreus. Loki was revealed at the end.

According to Norse tradition, Fenrir ripped Tyr’s hand. Tyr has been seen as part of the game. Fenrir was bound to a rock by Tyr after the hand incident. He would stay there until Ragnarok started. The trailer appears to have some serious doomsday implications.

It is also believed that Fenrir might swallow Odin during Ragnarok. It would not be surprising for the giant wolf to team up with Kratos or Atreus during the events. They might even be the ones who rescue him from his rock.

Are there any other children of Loki?

Loki has two more children. We’ve even met one. Jormungandr is the World Serpent and the youngest of his three children. He and Angrboda are the parents. Fenrir, the World Serpent, played an important role in 2018’s video game. Loki’s oldest child is now lost: Hel, the goddess of the underworld. It’s possible that she will appear in Ragnarok, as we’ve seen her before.
