However, as you progress through the story, unlock more Master Rank quests and deal with more dangerous threats, these monsters grow larger.

Only by carving Afflicted Bone from the monster can you receive it. It doesn’t have a target, capture or drop material reward. After killing a creature, you can only cut off a portion of it and then carve it out of their bodies. These monsters can’t be captured so you will have to kill them.

You have a better chance of earning Afflicted bone the more Anomaly quests that you complete and the higher your Master Rank. This is a rare material that you won’t find on standard monsters. If you require it for armor or weapons at the smithy, make sure to complete Anomaly quests.
